The Underbouncers

Entangled in the space of arts and sciences, while braiding biology, tunes and psychedelics like sweetgrass. The Underbouncers, Allegra and Pepijn, bring a soulful and rooted approach to researching themes in the biological world and connecting them to the musical sphere; that of frequencies. In the residency show Tuning into the roots, they go on a journey to explore the thread between biological science, music and spirituality which might have more overlapping areas than once thought. Starting at the micro, subcellular level, lensing through the seeming individual, crawling through mouldy forest floors to the world of mushrooms, other animals and plants, arriving at the juicy meso, communities of drumming enchanting creatures and their communication, all the way to the macro, looking at cosmic scale where all seems connected, and universal sounds are a language in themselves, and finally rising up into the etherical, leaving it at that... All while collecting theories, indigenous knowledge and exploratory tunes along the way.
