Leon
house · balearic · disco
Each episode of Local Frequencies is a chronicle of a genre, a magnifying glass on the ecosystem of a sound. Zooming in on one city and one history, every episode starts with a track from the chosen genre's conception days and ends with a recent release, plotting the evolution in between. From Balearic to Detroit techno, São Paulo baile funk to Italo disco, Leon lovingly and carefully assembles a case study on the fertile cultural and geographic grounds from which our favourite club genres emerge, transfigure, and build legacy.
