Alula Bird

There is no cinema without music, and Alula Bird’s show the SoundBridge traces the inviolable connection between the two artforms. Every episode is centered around a film with a notable soundtrack that will be played throughout the show. In the spaces in-between, Alula will dissect the director's choice regarding each specific track — its symbolic value, how it adds to the scene and deepens a theme with its lyrics. Attuning to a soundtrack without the film itself is an open invitation to re-evaluate our appreciation for music as a narrative device in its own right, through diversity of sound yet a shared emotional charge.
